Jenny Aguas

Jenny Aguas was born and raised in South LA and attended LAUSD schools. She has served Board District 2 since 2006, first as the Director of Community Engagement, Policy Director  and more recently as Chief of Staff. Jenny is a graduate of UC Santa Cruz, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Latin American & Latino Studies. With the support of her husband and their son, Jenny successfully completed  a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the California State University, Northridge.

Sonia Reza

Sonia Reza has served Board President Mónica García as Director of Administration since 2006. She brings to the office over 20 years of experience in administration, office management, and support for executive decision making. Sonia has worked closely and efficiently with high level government officials as well with private sector leaders. Born and raised in Boyle Heights, Sonia is an active member of her community. She has two children and nine adored grandchildren, three of whom currently attend LAUSD schools.

Lizette Patrón

Lizette Patrón, was born and raised in Pico Union and graduated from Hamilton High school. She worked with InnerCity Struggle for 10 years, as the Site Organizer at Garfield High School, then becoming the Education and Communications Coordinator and later the Director of Education Policy. Lizette is a graduate of Cal State Northridge, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chicano Studies. She has over 10 years of experience in training young people of color to challenge existing inequalities in schools through communications. She led InnerCity Struggle’s media messaging, media strategy and popular education curriculum development for adults and youth.

Isidro Armenta

Isidro Armenta is a LAUSD graduate and a Los Angeles native. Most recently, he served in the District Office of Congressman Xavier Becerra as a Staff Assistant/Caseworker and helped constituents solve their issues with the federal government. While in college, Isidro was elected Student Body President at SF State, where he advocated for increasing access and affordability in the California State University System. Isidro also volunteers his time with the South Central Scholars (SCS) Foundation and was the founding Co-President of the SCS Alumni Association. Isidro earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from San Francisco State University.

Edgar Campos

Before joining President Garcia’s Office Edgar was the Senior Lead Organizer at Community Coalition where he worked on education reform, youth development, child welfare reform, as well as other issues. Edgar has worked with UCLA’s Academic Advancement Project, UCLA’s Community Programs Office, Community Build Inc., and UCLA’s EAOP to promote access to higher education for inner-city students. He spent 3 years as producer/host on Power 106’s, “Knowledge is Power” radio show promoting dialogue on community issues throughout L.A and Orange County. Edgar is a UCLA alumni and is finalizing his thesis for his MBA at American Jewish University where he was awarded the Community Partnership Initiative Scholarship two years in a row.
