Sonia Reza has served Board President Mónica García as Director of Administration since 2006. She brings to the office over 20 years of experience in administration, office management, and support for executive decision making. Sonia has worked closely and efficiently with high level government officials as well with private sector leaders. Born and raised in Boyle Heights, Sonia is an active member of her community. She has two children and nine adored grandchildren, three of whom currently attend LAUSD schools.

She has served Board District 2 since 2006, first as the Director of Community Engagement, Policy Director and more recently as Chief of Staff. Jenny is a graduate of UC Santa Cruz, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Latin American & Latino Studies. With the support of her husband and their son, Jenny is working her way through a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. |

As Community Affairs Deputy he manages relationships in Board District 2 with key partners, community based organizations, parents and school staff. Prior to joining LAUSD, Elmer worked for Community Coalition, a non-profit organization in South Los Angeles founded by Assembly Speaker Emeritus Karen Bass. During his twelve-year history with the Coalition, Elmer held various positions including Director of Youth Programs, Fundraising Director and Director of Youth Organizing. |

A native of East Los Angeles, Manuel is the loving father of two school-age sons. He is a firm believer in the transformative value of education, both for kids and for their families. |

Before joining the office of the Board President, Luis was founder and Executive Director of InnerCity Struggle (ICS), an organization that works to improve education and the quality of life in East Los Angeles. Luis graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in English and holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Cal State, Northridge. He resides in El Sereno with his spouse and baby boy. |
